About Our Auction
Our 30th auction takes place in the hotel Schwarzer Bock in Wiesbaden, about 30 km from Frankfurt, on Dec 13, 2008, and will be held as a public auction. The catalogue has been published on the internet as well as in a four-colour book form. To receive a free copy, contact us under sales@torsten.com.
How to participate at Our Auction
Personal participation: Come to Wiesbaden on Dec. 13, 2008 and take part personally. Experience the exciting international atmosphere of a public auction in the sophisticated hotel Schwarzer Bock. We would be glad to assist you in finding an appropriate hotel room. Feel free to contact us by e-mail under sales@torsten.com.
Written Offers: If you cannot take part in the auction personally, you have the possibility to send us your bids in written form. They should reach us no later than Dec. 10th, 2008.
Internet-Bids on eBay: The complete offer of the 30th Torsten Hornung auction will be published on eBay for ten days, starting on Dec. 3rd, 2008. From that date onwards bids can be made anonymously. These bids, together with the written offers, will help to fix the starting price of the auction. It is essential that you are a registered member of eBay .Do not forget to register well in advance of the auction. Registration is free and without commitment for you.
Auction Agents: You can also entrust an auction agent with your bids. Telephone-Bidding: On the auction day you can also pass your bids over the telephone. Please contact us in written form before Dec. 11th if you want to do so, and inform us about the lots of interest to you. From the auction floor we will then get into contact with you when the respective lot is being called, and you can intervene directly in the bidding. Online-Bidding: For the 30th Torsten Hornung auction we install online bidding simultaneously to the floor bidding. In order to make use of this possibility, you have to be a registered eBay member before the auction, and you must accept our conditions of sale. The live auction takes place in cooperation with eBay and LiveAuctioneers. In case you are not accustomed with online bidding click right here. There you find a user’s guide in English in the upper left corner by clicking “Welcome New Users – START HERE“ and then “LEARN ABOUT“. There is a number of live auctions going on every day, especially in the afternoon and evening. Follow one of them to get used to the procedure and see how easy it is to bid online. Auctions in progress are marked by a blinking symbol. Just click there, and you are connected. Internet bidding is anonymous and cannot be controlled by a third person, just as little as telephone bidding can.
Once again we insist on the point that you have to register with eBay well in advance of the auction, preferably no later than three days ahead.
After the Auction: Please understand that our office will be closed on Monday, Dec. 15th, 2008. You can reach us again, also by phone, from Dec. 16th onwards. The List of Prices Reached will be published on the internet on Monday, Dec. 15th, 2008, and can be consulted by visiting www.atp50.de. Invoices will be sent by e-mail and by post starting Dec. 16th, 2008. You can pay: 1) by bank transfer (IBAN and BIC will be communicated); 2) by cheque (please add 15 € for bank fees); 3) by PayPal under info@torsten.com. We are sorry that we do not accept credit cards. Lots will be sent as soon as we receive the money for the invoice. We have our own transport assurance for any amount to places anywhere in the world. Upon appointment, lots can also be picked up at our office in Wiesbaden.
If you are already an eBay member, you can comfortably and without cost activate the title of the description in the article window by pushing the “eBay button” as a search order. You are then automatically directed towards the eBay page and follow the necessary instructions “Save this search“. It is IMPORTANT for this process to leave the description exactly as it is and not to alter it in any way. We do not see your eBay data since you are operating in the safe eBay domain. At least one week ahead of time eBay informs you by e-mail about the date of the internet auction of the selected article.
